Just something I wanted to share on this mellow Wednesday. It’s gloomy and cold outside, but warm and calm inside. Here are the Born Ruffians performing Little Garçon, one of my favorite songs off of their Red, Yellow & Blue album. It gets groovy around 1:52… wait for it. This version is a bit different than the album version, still good though. Enjoy, and happy Wednesday.

Be Ferocious, B-E Ferocious

by tatiana on June 20, 2010

Happy Sunday, everyone! A while back when my mister and I were comparing apps, he was telling me how amazing the WordPress app was, so I decided to give it a whirl. So voilà, coming straight to you from my iPhone.

Below is a photo of The Ferocious Few performing at the Haight Street Fair last weekend. It was hot, crowded, and I was ready to bounce, but then I heard retro-sounding guitar riffs backed by hyper drumming and had to stop and listen. I stayed for the rest of their set. Check them out July 15th at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco, or google them and give your ears a treat.

I’m off to the North Beach Festival today! Here’s hoping I do not get visited by claustrophobia again!

Hot like Mexico, Rejoice

Much a-buzz this week on the interwebs, as you may or may not have noticed, is the anticipation of Lady Gaga’s new video to be released Monday, June 7th for her single “Alejandro” from Fame Monster. [click to continue…]

Breathe, Keep Breathing

by tatiana on April 24, 2010

I’ve been listening to LastFM since 2006, and in these last four years, I have listened to this song 27 times (according to the nifty charts). This is a cover of one of my favorite Radiohead songs “Exit Music for a Film” by Vampire Weekend. I really love LastFm… it’s so much better than Pandora or Slacker Radio in my opinion. Give it a whirl. Befriend me!

In other news, I woke up early again so I decided, in efforts of being productive, I’ll head over to Starbucks and work on webby things. And I have been, while also being constantly distracted by adorable (and some not so adorable) children. It was cute for the first hour. I have resorted to my headphones and internet radio. Thank God for headphones. Anyway, work work and then a tennis tournament at 4pm. That’s right kids. I’ll be busting out my racket that has gone untouched for the last 5 years. Should be interesting. Here’s hoping I don’t pull too many muscles. Anyway, happy weekend!

Bob, I don’t really think you’re a poser.

I hope we meet again, somewhere some day.

Baby, you make my heart beat faster

And last but no least, I couldn’t find the scene from SLC punk with Steve-O and Brandy, so instead, here’s the song that made that scene so amazing.

Today is Factory Day for me! I’m off to finish up some sewing projects and work on an Upcycle Sunday. I know! It’s been forever. But it will be back with a vengeance. I love you all and I hope you spend today with people/things you love whether they be family, friends, pets or good music. Happy Lunar New Year as well. Besos!

One ticket for day one please!!!

by tatiana on January 19, 2010

She & Him? THE SPECIALS? Echo and the Bunnymen? JAY-EFFING-Z?!?! GAHHHH. I need to go, but my more logical side is shaking it’s frugal and wise head. Especially if we can only purchase three day tix. Man oh man. Oh Coachella, why must you tempt me.

2010 IS HERE

by tatiana on January 3, 2010

200ciggies

I hope you all had a wonderful and memorable New Year’s Eve. Mine consisted of a bad drag show and beers at a pretty low key bar. Definitely different than the way I’ve spent my last two New Year’s, but that’s ok. Plans are already in the works for NYE in Vegas next year.

But, hey, let’s forget all of the bad things that may have happened in 2009. It’s time to dance, have funny conversations with friends, and vomit confetti, like the Born Ruffians.

This is one of my favorite songs from this past year. I’m compiling a list of Songs to Get You Happy for 2010, coming soon. The audio equivalent of a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, if you will. You’re welcome.

Music as a Visual… and Maybe also as Decoration

by tatiana on November 10, 2009

Antonio Ricci (played by Lamberto Maggiorani) glues posters on a wall. (The Bicycle Thief, Vittorio De Sica, 1949)

One of the perks of living in a city such as San Francisco is the fact that there are so many creative concert posters to be seen just about anywhere. So many venues, so many shows, so little time. These posters piqued my curiosity and I decided to take a moment out of my day to peruse the web (specifically here) for some of my favorite band posters. Enjoy!

Thursday Inspiration: Happy/Sad Songs

by tatiana on October 30, 2009

Now it’s just like we never was…

… some things go bad just because.

Hello world. Please please please watch the video. I was in a weird mood when I got home from work today… I attribute it to all of the sappy music I was listening to on the bus ride home. And then out of the blue this little diddy popped up on lastfm and cured my temporary blues. But then I thought about this song and got a little blue all over again. Music is so powerful.

Not to worry though. I have The Office and 30 Rock to watch in a little bit! Sorry my posts have been so few and far between lately, but I’ve been a busy gal. Been workin’ the new job which I love more than I can express here. So thankful and blessed. And I’ve been doing more freelance work which takes up mucho tiempo, as well as writing por el blog de televicion.

This weekend I have two visitors coming up for Halloween. Should be rad. We’ll see what kind of trouble* we can get into this weekend. Last weekend was fun. I need to write a blog update about it though. But I will say, I saw some really great art and had the best tamale… probably of my life. Stay tuned.

* Good, clean fun.
